UK Business Development Manager (EdTech/MIS/SaaS)

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented UK Business Development Manager to join their team.

 

Job description

As a UK Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue and expanding our client’s customer base across the UK. You will establish and nurture strong sales relationships with school leadership, admin teams, and teachers, promoting the adoption of their comprehensive MIS platform. This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of educational institutions, including single schools, multi-academy trusts, and school federations.

Key Responsibilities:

Pipeline Generation and Management:
– Generate and progress new business opportunities through both inbound leads and targeted outbound prospecting.
– Develop a portfolio of reference schools within your allocated territory.
– Drive upsell opportunities, including integrated hardware solutions.
– Maintain accurate sales records in the CRM platform for pipeline, forecast, and performance analysis.
– Collaborate with Onboarding and Customer Success teams for seamless client transitions.
– Conduct win/loss reviews to provide valuable market feedback.

Sales Progression and Commercial Management:

– Deliver compelling in-person and online product demonstrations.
– Manage commercial proposal generation, negotiation, and contract closure.
– Support bids and tenders as required.

Market Intelligence and Marketing Support:

– Attend industry events (e.g., BETT) to promote the company’s solutions.
– Provide accurate market and customer intelligence to marketing and product teams.
– Collaborate with the product team to address customer feedback and implement product enhancements.

Requirements

Key Attributes:

– Proven experience in business development within the UK education sector, ideally with EdTech/MIS/SaaS experience.
– Strong understanding of UK school administration processes and workflows.
– Customer-centric approach with a consultative sales style.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to build rapport and relationships with diverse stakeholders.
– Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
– Proficiency in CRM systems.
– Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
