About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proven track record in software sales, ideally within the SaaS space.
A recognised leader in the education technology sector, is seeking a Finance Sales Specialist to drive sales of their Finance software solution within the Independent and International Education Schools sector across the UK and potentially internationally.
This field-based role will be instrumental in achieving sales targets, collaborating closely with Account Management, New Business, and Marketing teams to identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities. You’ll be joining a company with an established reputation and a strong presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
– Own and execute the sales plan to achieve annual Finance software sales targets.
– Collaborate with Account Managers and New Business team on leads and opportunities.
– Conduct on-site and virtual (Teams) meetings, including discovery calls and product demonstrations.
– Contribute to formal tenders and support the Bids team.
– Develop sales strategies and targeted propositions for key accounts.
– Partner with product and product marketing teams to ensure sales team readiness and resource access.
– Maintain an accurate Finance software opportunity pipeline and report to Sales Management.
– Support marketing initiatives, including webinars, campaigns, and events, to generate leads.
– Represent the company at industry exhibitions and events.
– Maintain deep product knowledge and communicate value propositions to schools.
– Develop and maintain a detailed sales plan, tracking progress and opportunities.
– Negotiate sales agreements to maximise value for both the customer and the company.
– Act as the voice of the customer, providing feedback to internal teams.
– Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and developments in the education sector.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
– Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) preferred.
– AAT qualification (or equivalent) essential; higher accounting qualification desirable.
– Proven sales or pre-sales experience with financial software, preferably SaaS.
– Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and influencing skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
– Ability to deliver professional presentations.
– Comfortable with technology and its application in business.
– Self-motivated team player with innovative ideas for driving sales growth.
– Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
– Valid UK driving license.
Desired Skills and Experience:
– Experience in the education market.
– Experience with Salesforce.
